There is so much to do in Prague alone, but if you are spending a few more days in the Czech Republic, I recommend you take a day trip to another city! Here are eight ideas for your next trip:
1. Relax at the spas in Karlovy Vary
In this town, there are so many spa facilities to choose from! For added benefits, pick up a spa cup and visit the fountains to sample the different naturally-occurring thermal mineral water.

2. Explore the underground labyrinths of Brno
There is a network of underground cellars beneath the city, which were used for storage and, in the case below, as an ossuary. Many cellars are still operational, and you can dine in one that is now a restaurant!

3. Sample wines at a castle in Mělník
Get a tour of this Mělník Chateau, where you can see the vines from which they create wine! Summertime is the best to go, as that’s when you’ll get to see the vineyard, but in winter they still offer tastings.

4. Etch your own crystal in Nizbor
Learn all about the process for creating Czech crystal at Rückl Crystal glass factory. . After the tour, purchase a (discounted) crystal glass and learn how to etch it yourself from an artisan!

5. Try the namesake beer of Pilsen
Pilsen (Plzeň) is of course home to the Pilsner Urquell beer. Take a tour of the facility to learn how the world’s first pale lager is made. If you’re feeling brave, try a sample of their hops (I had the tiniest pinch, and it was the most bitter thing I’ve ever tasted).

6. Visit the bone church in Kutná Hora
The Sedlec Ossuary is a small chapel that is, interestingly, adorned with the skeletons of a few thousand people. This medieval chapel is technically in the suburbs of Kutná Hora, but within walking distance to the city center. There, you can explore the larger (none-bone) cathedral.

7. Wander the medieval castle of Český Krumlov
From the castle bell tower, you get a magnificent view of the Vlatava River bisecting the city of Český Krumlov. On your way back into the city center, you can also buy some rare Moldavite at the Moldavite Museum.

8. Get a taste of Vietnam in Little Hanoi
Just outside of Prague, Little Hanoi has countless stalls and shops selling everything from jeans to nail polish to colorful N-95 masks! Stop by for some Northern-style pho and Vietnamese egg coffee.
