As a minimal maximalist but also a chronic under-packer. I hate taking things that don’t do double-duty. Because of my multi-city journeys, I usually take only a carryon backpack and purse, so every bit of space counts! (A carryon rolling luggage is a luxury to me.) Even with such limited space, I love doing a full face of makeup and accessorizing. With limited space, and especially if my itinerary is indefinite, I need my products to be minimal and to work double-duty. Without further ado, here are my must-take items.
- Foundation: Clinique Even Better Makeup
- I love a product that multitasks – this foundation protects my skin with SPF while evening the appearance of my skin texture. The no-fuss packaging makes it super easy to throw into my carry-on. (I should know… because I’ve definitely shattered my glass foundation bottles before)
- No-fuss eyeshadow: Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadow Stick
- Shade golden pink/ taupe is my everyday 30-second eyeshadow, it’s so easy to apply! The slim tube also means there’s no danger of it shattering like a some powder compacts. I always pack this with me on trips.
- Lip care: La Mer The Lip Balm
- I apply The Lip Balm as the last step of my skincare routine. I love how it hydrates without too much shine. With a pleasant sweet-mint scent, it’s my favorite to wear alone or to sheer out a lip color.
- Life-proof mascara: Kiss Me Heroine Make Long & Curl Super Waterproof Mascara
- For days when I need a life-proof mascara, this is my go-to. I’ve swam, snowboarded, and distance ran in this – and it has never budged! This mascara volumizes my lashes and freezes my curl like no other.
- Cheek duo: Wander Beauty On-the-Glow Blush & Illuminator
- When I travel I usually just wear everyday makeup, so this cheek and highlighter combo from Wander Beauty is my go-to. Plus, it even works as a lip color! The cream stick form ensures the product won’t crack in transit, unlike some of my powder compacts.
