The next stop on my grand tour of the Hello Kitty Cafes across North America (for now) is … Vancouver! When I was planning to visit Canada, this was the first item on my bucket list. If you like Hello Kitty, pink, and sweet treat, this cafe is for you!

The cafe is two levels, with a larger first floor for ordering and shopping, and smaller second-floor dining area. Everything, of course, is pink.

I especially liked the location-specific touch: maple leaves! They had the motif all over. The bathroom is also very Instagrammable, with this wallpaper and even a Hello Kitty-shaped mirror!

For dessert, I got the Hello Kitty Birthday Cake and the Jasmine Green Tea bubble tea, totaling 38 CAD (or ~30 USD). Both were absolutely delicious. I was surprised by how good the items tasted. Usually with character-themed cafes, you sacrifice flavor for the visual aesthetic, but I am happy to share that this was not the case with the Hello Kitty Cafe Vancouver.

Upstairs, there is a built-in Hello-Kitty shaped bench that you can take pictures in. The rest of the tables have pink and white touches. I went during the afternoon on a weekday, so it was rather quiet and peaceful.

Here’s a short video with more details about my visit:

Overall, I would rate my experience a 10/10 – the staff were very nice, the interior was full of themed details, and the cake and drinks were good. Plus, it’s pretty hard to have an awful time in such a cute store.
